About the Book
In AS TIME GOES BY Leo F. Weddle tells a story of growing up in a small town in Kentucky in the years of the Great Depression and World War Two. His recollections of elementary school experiences pinpoint problems which resulted from an absence of accountability for teachers during those years. Weddle recounts his experiences as a combat Marine in the Korean war, and as a college professor during the turbulent decades of the 1960’s and seventies. His brief aphorisms in “Random Thoughts” pose questions about time, identity and aging that are universal in nature. This book is a testament to the value of family and friends, and of the ability of the individual, through perseverance, to achieve goals which exceed even his own dreams.
