About the Book
Such striking words of “1998 Poetry Guild’s Official Call For Entries” attracted my attention. After days of consideration, I translated my Chinese poem “Diplomacy” into English and submitted. I was happy to find that my poem was accepted and collected into Shelter from the Storm. I didn’t pay for an entry fee, but of course, I paid for the book. I was quite encouraged. Hence, I continued to submit my poetry to Poetry Guild, the International Library of Poetry, and the Noble House Publishers. Now I have thirty-two poems collected into anthologies of these publishers. Many of such poems are also found in The Sound of Poetry. In these years, I do not translate or rewrite my Chinese poems into English alone. I also read English poetry and try to write poetry with the English language. “Uncle Horn” is one of such poems.
