I wrote my first poem at age 13. I immediately discovered how helpful it was for me to express my thoughts on paper. As I continued to write poems throughout my teenage years, I grew to believe in myself even more. My poems are about the struggles I went through and the different ways I overcame my obstacles. A lot of young girls have gone through the same situation; they feel lost and that no one understands them.
