About the Book
This book is designed to connect with readers of all ages and stages in their life. Since 1996, the Author has been writing poetry. She has sorted through five notebooks and selected these 31 poems to be published. The others were either deemed too sensitive or too personal to share. This book will take you on a journey from childhood innocence, to innocence lost, to broken promises, and adolescent dead dreams, and the triumph of adulthood. The selected works cover a wide range of topics and one of them is sure to resonate with you and draw you into the journey as if it were your story.
About the Author
MarKesha L. Dean was born in Manhattan, New York, and raised in Marion, South Carolina. She was privileged to study at the University of Applied Science, Schmalkalden Germany in 2005 upon which she received a certificate of completion. In 2006, she received her first BA in modern language- German from Francis Marion University. Dean is an ardent student currently seeking multiple degrees. Dean wrote her first book Poems of My Youth in 2012. My Brother’s Name is Joey is the first in a series of books and will be followed by Tyler Makes a Game and Tyler’s Big Idea.
