About the Author

Bobbye (Lee) Evans was born the proud daughter of Willie and Iona Evans in a small southern town, Wadley, Georgia. Faith, guidance, endurance and love were qualities of life showered upon her at an early age. There was no doubt that Bobbye’s future ambitions would follow these paths. Pursuing her dream to become a teacher, in 1961, Ms Evans received a Bachelor’s Degree in Science at LeMoyne College in Memphis, TN. In 1976, having a desire to better serve special needs communities, she earned a Master’s Degree in Reading and Learning Disabilities at the University of Detroit. For thirty years the Detroit Public Schools System utilized Bobbye’s services as teacher, consultant, advisor, delegate, and mentor to many teacher and student programs which focused on self-awareness, self-worth and educational mastery. She was forever active in the promotion of academic excellence. In 1989, Ms Evans retired from the Detroit Public Schools System and moved to Las Vegas, NV. In 1990, a restless retiree went into yet another challenging field. Bobbye joined the staff at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) as Instructor and Field Supervisor to prospective teachers. It was at this time that she began to address many educational concerns in writing. She is the author of teacher resources and mini-books related to self-esteem and values for children.
