About the Book
Just before ending a forty-year career heading up a busy insurance agency in New York City, Jack Sauter tried his hand at writing. His initial effort (at age fifty-nine) produced an article about his Naval Early Warning squadron in Korea. This was published in THE HOOK, the magazine of the Tailhook Association. His next literary effort was a full-length book: SAILORS IN THE SKY, a memoir of his naval service as a radar/ combat aircrewman during the Korean War. Among others, he has also written for USA TODAY, AMERICAN LEGION MAGAZINE, SEA CLASSICS, THE HOOK, and the OCEAN LINER GAZETTE. He lives with his wife, Marianne, and son Keith, in Manhasset Hills, New York.
