About the Author

Phillip Mojica was born in Bakersfield and grew up in California’s San Joaquin Valley. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1949 and served his tour of duty before moving to Huntington Beach in Southern California. He was an employee of a public agency in Orange County and served there for thirty-two years. After his retirement, he moved to San Luis Obispo on the Central Coast. He enjoys traveling in the United States and abroad. Phillip’s writings have been published in The Californians, a magazine of California history. Aside from writing, he is pursuing an art career; he derives great pleasure from sculpting in stone and also paints in oil.
