About the Book

Is life determined by fate or by coincidence? Matthew soon finds out as he embarks on a new journey by moving to Memphis and leaving his small town home just to the north. Choosing to hide his past, he soon forms bonds with an overly dramatic Mississippi boy named Jacob and a passionate art dealer named Zoë. While discovering himself in a local club called Red Square but avoiding the dance floor, Matthew soon forms a secret friendship with an elusive drug dealer name Vance. Vance forces Matthew to face his past, and Matthew soon finds himself missing his mute brother, Ethan. However, it is Seth, a photography student, who forces Matthew to question his own choices and face the truth. The Other Side of What will have you questioning your own past as well; each page will make you stop and think about the truth!

About the Author

Shannon L. Yarbrough was born and raised in Dyersburg, Tennessee. In 1995, he moved to Memphis, where The Other Side of What takes places. He had always wanted to be a writer, and began reviewing gay fiction for the Memphis Triangle Journal Newspaper in 2000. In 2001, he moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where he completed this book after having worked on it for over two years.
