ALBERT O. WILKAT, Retired P.E., is the son of Lithuanian immigrant parents. He lived his early life during the Depression in South St. Louis. During WWII, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a pilot with the Second Troop Carrier Squadron in the CBI Theater, earning three Distinguished Flying Crosses and four Air Medals.
After the war, Al graduated from college and worked in various phases of construction engineering until retirement in 1990. He married Melba Jo Heim in 1957 and they have four children and four grandchildren. They presently reside in Plantation, Florida, where he is an active CBI Veteran.
