About the Book

Sarah Mallory was filled with dread when her husband appeared at her door. She had left him almost five years before, believing he was involved with his secretary. Now she had her son to consider and no way of concealing the boy from him when he decided to stick around. When that day came, not only did he recognize the child as his, he was determined to claim him and return him to the home where he belonged. If she refused, she would lose the boy.

Leaving everything she had gained over the years, she returns to find his secretary still in his employ, but decides to turn a blind eye for the sake of her son. When the burden of caring for the new home he had built becomes too much for her, she hires the woman who befriended her to care for her son. After a discussion with the woman, she is persuaded to visit the parents who disowned her when she married. Now, with the little boy beside her, she was welcomed with open arms.

The marriage was still strained until Rick visits her sister for information about Sarah’s desertion. He learns of the mischief his secretary and his sister caused. Returning home, he fires the secretary and the deep love he and Sarah had for each other carried them through. The addition of a baby daughter solidifies their marriage.

About the Author

Gen Carter is a new author with nine novels to her credit. She has always been a compulsive reader and gained her first look into the world beyond by reading her father’s Western Novels and her mother’s Romance Magazines while herding cattle and sheep on the North Dakota prairie. Her works, built around that foundation, are structured by her life experiences that were shared by eleven siblings, a loving husband and her own eight children. She brings a comfortable straightforward look at the personal relationships upon which we all thrive.
