Casey Gannot is a fifty-four year old retired Naval Aviator - an Admiral, a scientist, a husband and father. Casey is asked to take a quiet diplomatic assignment in Oslo involving Scandinavia´s most outspoken and well known anti-communist professor, Borge Aarvik.

Sam Abrahms is back as Casey´s field control. We travel an ULTRA journey that begins in Washington, DC, and meanders through Oslo, Copenhagen and Aarhus, the new KGB building in Moscow, USSR, then on to Goteborg by tramp coastal steamer.

A classic auto run through Sweden to the Norwegian border turns nasty, causing the need for BLACK cover in Trondheim, Norway. This is followed by a short Lear jet hop to Helsinki, as Casey is being sucked into unavoidable jeopardy and inescapable urgency. This presents Casey with one last hairy jet flight to make. He had enough trouble at home. He didn´t have to travel to find it.

Oh, what the hell. He´ll give it his best shot.

One last combat mission. Is Casey crazy, or duty bound? Or both?

About the Author

Scott Lucas is a seasoned assignment writer, essayist, non-fiction author, and novelist. Lucas wrote the espionage/thriller The Not-So-Good Shepherd, and is currently collaborating on a startling and disturbing non-fiction work with a senior Soviet defector. A Cold War naval anti-submarine warfare flier, Lucas studied in the United States and Europe, and has held senior executive positions in both arenas. His international publishing credits include projects in business, medicine, the law, and espionage. He resides in Washington, DC.
