About the Book

Heimdal Nacht is asked to look into a mysterious death of one Ralph Hardy Jr. The police of Baskins are not giving out much information and Ralph Sr. wants Heimdal to got the city and find out whats going on. Heimdal has just appointed mayor of Parishdam and already is having doubts about taking the job. Heimdal had been mayor of Parishdam for the last twenty years and he yearns for some excitement.

He leaves for the city and extracts a favor from an old acquaintance, Police Commissioner Grant. Heimdal finds there is not one murder but two and they suspect more to be coming.

Heimdal is told what they know as of that moment. Shelly Christ and Ralph Hardy are the victims. Shelly is a nineteen old student of Asian decent, while Ralph Hardy is almost a thirty-five old junior executive. They both live in different parts of the city and were killed with different poisons. There were no finger prints and no witnesses.

Heimdal is assigned to task force and more murders occur. The killer is always two steps in front and nothing links the victim to each other. There is a good reason why the killer is beating them and everybody assumes that the killings are random and serve no purpose, but they do. Heimdal is in a race to solve the case and the killer becomes more daring after each murder. Finally an out and out challenge to Heimdal and the Baskins police force, who will win?
