About the Book

"THE $900 HONDA" is one man´s personal odyssey through America, driven in a worn-out Honda Civic with over 130,000 miles on it, and camping out in a one-man igloo tent. Beginning in late Fall, the odyssey travels through Canada, New England, the South to Key West, Memphis, then west. Yet, the book is more than a travel tale. It is about cars, and the history of the automobile in America, and about cars the writer has owned and what went on in the world, and with him, while he owned them. With 47 photos.

About the Author

A writer/sailor who lives aboard and sails his small sloop in Southern California, George Snyder has published more than twenty novels and dozens of short-stories, plus he has written seven screenplays. The $900 Honda is his first non-fiction work, although his articles appear regularly in sailing magazines. Most of his fiction is in the mystery/thriller genre, and he has just launched the Baylor Rumble thriller series. With a job resume that “reads like the yellow pages of the phone book”, he has a rich work and travel background to draw from in his writing. Besides cruising under sail, which includes solo voyages from Seattle to Alaska, and a year cruising the Sea of Cortez, George holds an Advanced Open Ocean scuba certification, has motorcycle toured over 100,000 miles, and has an avid interest in photography and travel.
