About the Book

" What started as a slight speech problem, was quickly followed by some motoric difficulties and by the time Alexander was five years of age, it was obvious he had a learning difficulty.  By the age of seven he was formally diagnosed as being deeply dyslexic and I was strongly advised to place Alexander in a boarding-school for Dyslexics.  In true Celtic tradition I said  "To hell with that!"  It was then that I decided that  this bright, sensitive little boy of mine was not going to be handicapped or disadvantaged by this dreadful condition called Dyslexia.  I had yet to learn that the resources available to help parents help their dyslexic children are woefully inadequate in just about every society - despite the fact that dyslexia is a $15 billion a year research industry.  I began to realize just how desperate and frustrated Augusto and Michaela Odone had become in their search, for what was to become known as  Lorenzos Oil. The turning point was when I met Marianne  a gifted special needs teacher.  We pooled our experiences and research and set about designing a program that would cure Alexander.  Without any official help, support, or interest - we succeeded. Despite what many experts say about dyslexia, for many dyslexics  there is a cure  and we proved it."

About the Author

John Evan-Jones is a British Management Psychologist, International Management Lecturer and best-selling author. He is regarded as an expert in Europe concerning Psychological tests – uses and abuses. He is much in demand as a Business School lecturer and senior corporate management educator. Marianne Evan-Jones is a Danish teacher with over 20 years of successful teaching and special needs teaching experience in Denmark. She was responsible for developing many unique teaching programs in both Danish and English and gained a reputation as one of the most original and effective teachers of both children and adults with dyslexic or other special needs.
