About the Book

The worst snowstorm that Nebraska had ever experienced prevented the town’s people from delivering their annual Christmas tree to Saint Anthony’s orphanage.  This was very disappointing for Tim, since it was his turn to put the silver star on top of the tree this year. But, being the oldest child at the orphanage, Tim knew it was up to him to brave the elements and chop down a tree from the thick forest that surrounded the orphanage. Tim told Cindy about his adventure, and Cindy insisted on coming along with him.

What he didn’t bargain for was a fantastic adventure with a flaky, black and white plaid dinosaur named Horace F. Bilbo who could virtually do anything except get them out of trouble.

Just when things seemed to be going right, or almost right considering that they were with a talking dinosaur, another obstacle would pop up and put Tim, Cindy and Bilbo in a predicament that was almost impossible to recover from.  And Bilbo wasn’t always there to help them out of it.

On the other hand, if it wasn’t for His Highness’ abrupt attitude, and it wasn’t for the mean old Owlly’s terrifying voice, and if it wasn’t for the witch Ezmeralda’s meanness, and if it wasn’t for the Pirate Captain Orange Beard…

I seem to be getting a little ahead of the story and I wouldn’t want to spoil it all for you.  You’ll have to read the "Greatest Christmas Adventure Story Ever" to find out what happens to Tim, Cindy and, of course, the loveable dinosaur named Bilbo.

The book has twelve chapters, each to be read on one of the twelve days of Christmas.
