About the Book

Boyd Shafer, 27-year-old computer analyst and widower, falls in love with Vickie Moore, beautiful Mexican-American legal secretary, and becomes the target of a conspiracy that stalks him from Arizona to Mexico’s High Sierras. As his relationship with Vickie grows, so do the attempts of sinister and unknown forces to eliminate him, beginning with anonymous death threats and escalating to attempted murder. This is a story of international intrigue, with an appealing thread of romance and a strong element of mystery that builds with each chapter to the shocking conclusion. (Note: This story is continued in the sequel, titled "Duel in Diablo Canyon," published by Xlibris in 2004)
