About the Book

In our modern era, 99.9 percent of the 3.1 billion nucleotides in the human genome (that define specie) are identical between any two people, (Homo sapiens) living anywhere in the world. This establishes, unequivocally, the biological uniformity of modern man and negates any notion of physiological diversity. Cultural diversity, (how and when a particular tribe of H. sapiens, some more isolated than others, entered our modern era) often informs the word "race" with the erroneous implication that there is an innate, genetic demarcation between peoples. It will be to our grave peril if this essential distinction about the truer meaning of "race" is not clarified. Recent discoveries concerning the DNA of pre-historic humans have found that during the 4 million year epic hominids (people) have existed; several prototypical sub-species vied for dominance. The last truly genetically varied hominid that was not H. sapiens went extinct 28,000 years ago. We now call these ancients, Neanderthals. We now know, for the first time, that they were a genetically distinct people that lived and competed simultaneously along side us. During this same time, there also existed a variety of "others", among whom we now call, H. erectus and H. hablis. The organic intermingling of these pre-historic, genetically disparate peoples would have caused sterility and other deformities to occur in any offspring they produced. It would be essential to survival that inter-breeding be avoided at all costs. Only by genocide, the complete and utter elimination of all "other" men (races) could H. sapiens hope to carry on. These more profound biological distinctions between "peoples" no longer exist in our modern world. However and unfortunately, it seems that we continue to react to the point of genocide over insignificant variations within our own tribe, still eager to cull that last genetic threat from our unique gene pool. Are we still waging these "genetic" wars, unaware of the ancient impulses and the deeper divides that once formed us? Are we confusing the superficial, cultural differences (regional skin color, language, etc.) that exist today for the more profound biological separations that once were? Now with the advent of the Nuclear Age man must stake his proper claim on this good Earth and with great effort, teach, assert and broadcast to pending generations that we are of one nation, (see first paragraph) but we weren’t always (see third paragraph). Today, in our modern era, during this occasion of many great things, it is also H. sapiens hour of reckoning. Time is of the essence, and in order to endure, an inventory by all men must be taken. A significant attempt must be made to analyze and explain the truly familial brothers that we now are. It is essential to our future that all men come to each other´s aid, join ranks and re-examine our singular nature through the prism of our past, in order to flourish and evolve - Beyond the Ancients.
