About the Book

An orphaned daughter of Romanian immigrants, her lover, an American Indian, and their illegitimate son find solace and pride in their lineage. Their story unfolds during the laborers’ conflict with the textile industry’s management following the economic crash of 1929. The scenario occurs in the area of Gastonia, North Caroline and Fort Mill, South Caroline.
