About the Author

Born in Brooklyn, reared in Queens, Ronald Porcelli, an alumnus of the School of Visual Arts, here writes about one of his passions - New York history. From a young age he has always been enthralled by the complexity and majesty of this great city. From the brownstones of Greenwich Village and downtown Brooklyn, to the skyscrapers of midtown and the lights of Broadway, Mr. Porcelli has explored them all. From old dark taverns, to elegant restaurants, Mr. Porcelli has been there, and, in this book shows the reader how to see it all while traveling through N.Y.C. and getting off at various stops on the "A" train.
