About the Author

An avid bridge player in his younger years, Leif B. Sorensen MD, PhD devoted 43 years as a physician-scientist at the University of Chicago, before resuming the study and play of duplicate bridge with great vigor. With active memberships in the American Contract Bridge League and the American Bridge Association he has accumulated close to 5,000 master points since his retirement in 2001.
