Doctor Chris Chapman is the founder and chairman of Chapman Pharmaceutical Consulting and Chapman Pharmaceutical Health Foundation. He graduated from Georgetown School of Medicine in 1987, completed a medical internship and anesthesiology fellowship in 1991.
In 1987 his godmother introduced him to Loïs Mailou Jones and he became her most trusted advisor. Hospital records list him as her godson, court records list him as her confidant and Lois considered him to be her “go-to doctor.”
He traveled and documented her life extensively. As they traveled, she provided him with first person accounts and documentation that spanned 92 years. This account is a tour of the entire 20th century; including the Great Depression, The New Deal, WWII, Segregation, and the Cold War. She gave first person accounts of African American Pioneers, including Carter G. Woodson, Alain Locke, W.E.B. Dubois, and Mary McLeod Bethune as well as the Presidents of Haiti, Senegal and France. She had an acquaintance with First Ladies of the United States including Rosalyn Carter, Jacqueline Kennedy-Onasis, and Hillary Clinton. She and Barbara Bush received honorary degrees from Howard University. She was a witness to many changes which righted wrongs in American History, in particular her life-long friend Matthew Henson, who discovered the North Pole.
