About the Book

While fictional, Mamie has written what she knows and has lived. In her 99 years that has been an incredible life. She follows her life experience as a child reared in a hotel environment through her life as a young wife in Lebanon and Cairo and her return to the United States.

Mamie is too much of a lady to use profanity or lurid sex scenes. What she does give you is an interesting glimpse into a life well lived. She has been a lady of firsts and is still setting a standard for others with learning to use a computer at age 96 so she could get her first book published at age 99.

It’s a small book, an easy read and just the right size to put in your purse or pocket when you have a wait at the doctor’s office or for a pleasant afternoon’s reading on the beach or porch. Enjoy.

About the Author

Mamie Hissem Flesher Diehl is an extraordinary lady. Born January 4, 1908 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, she grew up an only child whose grandparents owned the hotel where she lived. This, her first novel, chronicles many of her travels throughout her 99 years through much of the United States, Egypt, Lebanon and Israel. Always optimistic, Mamie is eager to pursue new projects and has followed her Mammaw’s sage advice to keep “going on and on.” Currently Mamie lives in Greenwood, IN and has started her next novel.
