About the Book

I´ve been asked by many about the picture on the front cover of Family Whispers - From The Front Porch and looking back, I don´t know why I didn´t explain that it´s my family! On the left in the back, is my Daddy´s mother, Grandma Deed and on the right, his father, Grandpa Irv. On the left in the front, is Daddy´s sister, Hallie, in the middle is my Mother, Mae and the little girl, whispering to her Grandpa is me! Stories about all of them are in the book, so you´ll get to know them. So glad you asked!

About the Author

I was born Wanieta Vess Isaacs in Midland City, Illinois, on July 29, 1931, in a little town that I don’t know if very much of exists today. Family Whispers pretty well tells my story. God and the family that He blessed me with mean more to me than anything, and the memories left of those we’ve lost and ones we are creating daily add up to many more lifetimes. Music has always played a big part in our lives. When I came to the time in my life that I realized so much of the experiences were already being lost, especially to the younger generations and how we lose contact with friends and relatives who are important to us, I started writing a little Cherish Family and Friends newsletter. It was wonderful how so many plugged into the stories and started keeping in touch. Then I branched out to including our fraternal family, and eventually members looked to the newsletter for up and coming events! This all encouraged me into thinking I may be able to write a good family book. As I told before, my mother wrote a diary that dated from 1924 to 1992, and the wealth of information in them and my computer are what really gave me the courage to start our story and I have written two family books preceding Family Whispers. I studied with the Christian Writers Guild, my mentor being Dr. Norman Rohrer, whom I have so much admiration for. I told him right at the very first that he had his work cut out for him because I write just like I talk—corny. Though he was a wonderful critic, he seemed to think my corny way of writing may be a plus for me! Only time will tell how many readers will enjoy Family Whispers.
