About the Author

I was born in Montserrat, West Indies. I spent my early childhood in Montserrat and in the Island of St. Kitts. I completed my elementary education, where I had begun, at the Kinsale Village School. I had a wonderful childhood, but my fondest memories of all are the years I spent shepherding my flock of sheep, taking them to the pasture every morning before school and to the sea for their swim on weekends. I migrated to New York City where I taught languages for thirty-two years after graduating from Hunter College. I retired from Stuyvesant High School in 1995.
