About the Author
Charles Perry, Jr. has been employed by New Bedford Police Department since 1987. Currently he is assigned to Keith Middle School as the school resource officer. During his first week at the school the Twin Towers were destroyed by terrorist on September 11, 2001. Many of the poems were inspired by the good, bad and ugly of the many life experiences that he has faced. Personal inspirations initially started with his father, Charles Perry, Sr. and authors like Everett Hoagland-Professor UMASS Dartmouth, Kelvin King-Kissed by Betrayal, Jibreel Khazan-1960’s Civil Rights Activist. He has also received awards from the U.S. Department of Education and the Massachusetts Department of Education for Distinguished Graduate Award for Title I students.
