About the Book

The Proof is in the Pudding is more than just a recipe book about pudding. Its proof - in the pudding - that communities truly make a difference in all our lives. Much like a recipe with it’s variety of ingredients creating a tasteful dish - such is the community with it’s diversity of members. Each individual contributes a very unique gift or talent creating the ultimate recipe for beautiful and compassionate neighborhoods, churches, and businesses. Inside this book you will not only find some of the finest recipes in central Illinois - but you will also learn more about community and how this author’s life was changed because of a village that cared. The title “The Proof is in the Pudding” was inspired by a young girl who overcame nausea from cancer treatment by eating home-made vanilla pudding recommended her nurse. That story along with the recipe can be found in this recipe book.

About the Author

Mary Margaret Kruger is the mother of nine children and grandmother of eleven. She was born and raised on a farm in central Illinois along with her thirteen siblings and now resides in North Carolina.

Mary has written and published “The Proof is in the Pudding”, “Mama’s Little House on the Prairie” and children’s book “My Grandma is an Alien”. She is also human interest columnist “The Overall Mom”.

As author and public speaker Mary Margaret enjoys motivating, inspiring and educating her audiences with stories from her life experiences.

Mary has been honored by the Illinois State Medical Society, the University of St. Francis formerly the College of St. Francis, and Woman’s day Magazine.
