About the Book

In Orange Days and Blue Nights from Philadelphia, the poet Antonio Gray expresses his experiences with love and urban life as an escape for a better tomorrow in and outside of Philadelphia. He also consistently paints vivid pictures of love's won and love's lost, but also the lessons learn from them. Gray however, sheds a more morbid picture from time to time on urban life when it comes to drugs, thieves, and one night stands. Antonio Gray attended Community College of Philadelphia. He won a Joseph Rizzello Award for excellence in poetry in 2007 for the poems "Daily Task" and "Gia and the Ghost".

About the Author

Antonio Gray was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 2, 1985. He is the first of three children. His mother is a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital and his father passed away in 1994 from AIDS. Antonio has been writing poems, short stories and hip-hop rhymes since he was in grade school, at about 11 years of age. He plans to write more books in the future. Running with the Moon is the second poetry book published by the upcoming poet/writer. Orange Days and Blue Nights from Philadelphia is his first poetry book. Gray continues to use his life and his pen as a tool to get him through life's journey as an African American in the ghetto. Now 24, Gray plans to write several more poetry books in the near future on love and urban life; a novel is also in the works.
