Mrs. Jimmie L. Phillip Poindexter, was born on campus of Prairie View College in 1834 and has lived for all but 21 years of her life, in Prairie View, Texas. She is the older daughter of former Dean of the Chapel, Rev. & Mrs. Lee C. Phillip. She is retired Professor of Social Work and Sociology at Prairie View A&M University.
