Recent discoveries in archeology and biblical research bring a new and exciting understanding of the Hebrew and Christian Bibles. Many of our scriptural writings now appear in a fresh light. The author takes the reader on a spiritual journey, focusing on the effect of these discoveries on each book of the respective Bibles. Many of these books were attributed to ancient authors without sure knowledge of their origin or accuracy. Modern methods of dating and writing analysis, aided by powerful computers, bring us closer to discovering who is and is not the actual writer. Many Christians and Jews are hardly aware of the enormous research and lively debate about the founding church fathers (and mothers) of their religions by the academic community in the last few hundred years. The new scholarship strips away some conventional thinking but adds intriguing confirmation that the Bibles were essentially based on history and tradition, much of it accurate but some of it erroneous.

About the Author

Glenn H. Van Doren has spent a lifetime searching for the truthful core of the teachings of the Hebrew and Christian Bibles. In his university days at Wayne State University in Detroit, he was a student of W. F. Albright, the noted biblical scholar who participated in the Dead Sea Scroll discoveries. He has been a frequent lecturer on leadership issues, and his writings have covered all aspects of that subject. His research into biblical history and especially into the authorship of the Hebrew and Christian Bibles has spanned over half a century, the last twenty years devoted to this book.
