About the Book

When thirteen year old Darien sets off on a journey, his fate overtakes him and he is sent on a quest to find a Truthstone. Yet even as he searches another searches for him. Al Zaric dreams of leading the world into a time of evil. He wants to use Darien’s heart-blood to awaken Soradin, the Dark One. Vhari, the midwife’s daughter, soon discovers that she has magical powers. The two youths have never met but Vhari is steadily pulled into the darkening web of Darien’s destiny. Throughout this story you will meet many characters; some human, some not. In this fantasy land there are those who practice sorcery, and who are sprung from an evil source. Beware of shadow-men Warths and trollish Dhrogs. Yet not all of the magic belongs to Soradin’s Darkhearts. Step inside this land and meet the Ka -- white witches who seek to rid their world of the growing threat. Will they make it, or will Al Zaric succeed in awaking his master?
