String Walking

Would you like to try something different? Something I discovered a few years ago while I was flying my kite. I don’t quite understand the why or the wherefore of it, but it does happen. It’s quite enjoyable too. I call it “String Walking,” and it requires your imagination and a bit of your time.

About the Author

I Retired from the USAF in September 1972, went to work as a Security Offi cer for Sperry Univac for some 18 years when, I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea I was put on Long term disability, in 1988, then onto Social Security within the year. I live in Oakdale, Minnesota, share the house with my wife Karen and two cats, Bubby and Shadow. I was able to pick up my hobby of kite fl ying again. In1998 The American Kite fl iers Association had a raffl e. The prize was 2 each “Sutton 252” kites. I won the 2 kites, thus catapulting me into a different level of kiting. The kite itself was worth about $1000. Had many offers to buy the 2nd kite. Ended up selling the extra kite, to buy tails and line to fl y one kite. Which I was fl ying when this story, “String Walking took place . . . .
