About the Book

A fourth grade girl, her best friend, classmates, and teacher enjoy going on a field trip in Mobile, Alabama. They visit some beautiful and historic places in the city. Along the way, the students learn about the interesting history of Mobile. Later they record what they have learned in their journals and decide learning history can be great fun!

About the Author

A lifelong educator, Dr. Leona Onderdonk Rowan is an Associate Professor at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. One of the courses she teaches is literature written for young people. Prior to Spring Hill College, she served as a teacher, instructional specialist, and principal in the Mobile County Public School System. She earned her doctorate degree in educational administration from Auburn University.
