About the Author
Andy Thomas McDonald is a Canadian writer of poetry. He was born in 1949 and grew up in the Ottawa Valley. He has lived in Boston, San Francisco and Vancouver. He studied nursing at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. He holds an Honours Social Sciences Degree at Simon Fraser University and a Certificate of Criminology at Memorial University. He also completed two years of graduate studies in anthropology at McMaster University. When not writing poetry, Andy works as a health technician, philanthropist concert organizer for mitochondrial disease (2005, 2007), and record producer (Masterpiece Unsigned: Songs of Leonard Cohen 2008). His poem “The Tramp” appeared in From Sinai to the Shtetl and Beyond: Where Is Home for the Jewish Writer? (2009). He resides in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
