About the Author

Originally from Massachusetts, Courtney Mann’s love for the great outdoors and the great unknown merged at a decision to walk the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine in 1998. Still known by trail family as “Mogo,” she currently lives about a day’s hike from the Appalachian Trail near the confl uence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers.
