About the Author

C. Mayes Thomas (c.mayesthomas@gmail.com) has 32 years of experience as an early childhood special education teacher. The “Busy Little Butterfly” series was inspired by her work professionally interacting with children, and the many hours she spent reading to her four daughters during their childhood. It taps into the sense of adventure and discovery children are naturally predisposed to, while exposing them to higher level vocabulary that can challenge their intelligence and increase their command and usage of language. Ms. Thomas takes pride in acknowledging the talent of her daughter, Catrell C. Thomas, (www.catrellthomasphotography.com) who also makes her debut with the whimsical illustrations that bring Busy Little Butterfly’s escapades to life.
