About the Author

Marlene has been an inspirational speaker and teacher totaling thirty years. She has traveled extensively throughout the United States sharing a message of hope. Along with her desire to serve others, she has a passion for fine dining which lead her to pursue a career in becoming a Chef in 2005. She graduated with honors with her diploma from The Art Institute of Philadelphia. It was through the creativity of developing insatiable meals that catapulted her into this new love of poetry along with life experiences. “Who would have thought that locked in mahogany flesh would hold the power of words? Words spilling out on paper like a chocolate cordial center. The more I wrote the more it flowed I had become the Poetess addicted to chocolate and addicted to words.” Writing this book has not only been liberating as well as therapeutic. It is my desire that each reader will see themselves throughout the pages of this inspirational, romantic, thought provoking journey and be healed, encouraged and inspired and “Destined to Fly.”

Marlene is a native of Philadelphia. She is a wife, mother of three a Grandmother of five.
