Ricky's First Fish

About the Book

This is a story of a little boy named Ricky, who wanted to catch a fish then eat it on his dinner dish. Ricky and his pet rabbit set out in a rowboat for a fishing adventure. Unfortunately, it’s not as easy to catch a fish as you might think. After several days and trying different spots, equipment and even a motorized boat …still no luck and no fish. Ricky decides to seek advice at the local bait and tackle shop by experienced fishermen. Day#4 out in the ocean Ricky catches his first fish. However along the way Ricky learns that helping others turns out to be better than anything he can catch in the sea.

About the Author

This fishing tale was inspired by a bait and tackle shop owned by my sister and brother-in-law. I was introduced to live fishing bait (shrimp and those pesky active pinfish). I’ve learned they call it fishing and not catching for a reason. As in most things worthwhile in this life you have work at it. Try, try and try again as the old saying goes. In the end hopefully, you should produce good fruit (or in this story a tasty dish of fresh seafood)
