Out of Pain

About the Book

Out of Pain is a book of inspirational poems that were written during a very hard time in my life. Against all odds, I made it through these difficult times and thus my poetry was birthed. My prayer is that the readers of these poems will feel inspired to keep moving forward in life, and have something beautiful come out of their pain.

About the Author

I was born and raised in Atchison, Kansas. I am the youngest of four children born to Willie and Mildred Merritt. I graduated from Atchison High School in 1987. I am now employed as a paraprofessional with Topeka Public Schools. I work with special education children. I am also the mother of five children.
