About the Author
Joanne Karipidis Kefalas lives in Long Island, New York with her husband, 3 sons and of course mother (Yiayia). Ms. Kefalas likes to use herself, 3 sons and mother as the different characters in her books. She taught reading in the public school system for many years. That is where she began writing her children’s books. Her stories encompass repetitive words, easy language, life lessons and Greek culture. She feels that a lot of children can relate to her storybooks. Ms. Kefalas is the author of several other children’s books including “Why Am I Afraid”.
