About the Book

It is my prayer that this book will assist couples in seeing their marriage from a divine perspective. Even though the book is written from a Christian biblical perspective, the principles and axioms it presents are applicable to all traditional marriages. Understanding that in spite of the brokenness we bring as individuals to our marriage, God’s plan for marriage, in all its splendor, still unfolds as it should when we humble ourselves, submit to him, and stay obedient to his directives. When the couple places their marriage on the solid ground of God’s Word, everything built upon that foundations has the strength to enjoy and endure the ebbs and flows of this life. We become unafraid of being transparent and enjoying the fullness of another person’s love and care. We no longer settle for a fifty-fifty, meet-in-the-middle relationship. We give all—recognizing and accepting that from time to time, we and our spouse will fall short. In other words, we will need to be treated like and act as a neighbor.

About the Author

Greg Witherspoon is a native of Buffalo NY. He graduated from Tuskegee Institute (ANA Tuskegee University) in 1979. Presently he serves as a Executive Minister at New Life Community Church, In East Saint Louis IL. He and his beautiful wife Patricia have been married for 26 years and been blessed with four wonderful Children (Dedric, Christina , Michelle and Lori). Four grand children (Dedric, Reagan, Braylon and Brayshon) and one great grand, Elijah. With the Church Motto “We Build Strong Families” Greg quickly found himself in the service of ministering to couples. This experience was lifted to a new height, when in 2012 Greg and Pat lead a small group using “The Splendor of Marriage”. Thanks to my mother, Thelma, my siblings Florence (Robert), Ronald, George (Hattie), Gardell (Colleen)and Barron (Karen); my small group (the Chaneys, Flanders, Glovers , Grangers, Hardys, Hills, Wilsons) my in-Laws (the McDonalds, Monks and Porters) and Pastor Granger and wife Wyvetta, and Darwin Walker for serving as wonderful examples of God directedness , critics, motivators and in some cases examples of ‘what not to do’.
