About the Book

In the first story, a novella titled "Thoughts of a Killer," we find Detective Merrick searching for a serial killer with a liking for prostitutes. As the bodies pile up and the ghosts of the dead follow Merrick, he is lost in a river of dead ends. In the second story, a novelette, titled "Missing Jezebel," the reader follows a legend dating back to the 1800s. A tale about two sisters, one a black witch hell-bent on revenge, and the other dealing with evil and the unimaginable loss of a daughter.

About the Author

Vincent Macraven is a self-taught writer, painter, and musician. His published book of short stories, "A Diverse Gathering," was called by Kirkus review "a standout, frequently profound story collection." His book of novellas titled "Unsettling" was also reviewed by Kirkus, calling it "fresh and original horror, hypnotic in its delivery." V. Macraven is a paranoid schizophrenic who gets his inspiration from the classics, inspired by Poe, Dickens, Rand, and Hess to mention only a few. V. Macraven also painted the two covers for his two books of short stories. There is also a book of poetry titled "A Calling of Verse." With all his work, V. Macraven hopes the reader will come away entertained, with a new perspective, and perhaps an independent thought. Macraven resides somewhere in New Jersey.
