About the Book

The author now wishes to welcome all conquerors of the soul and suggests that they tread lightly around the tigers in the house before sitting for tea with the masters of life and death. Members of the family of man will be serving angel food cake to the sacred and profane through the courtesy of the three wise women. Meanwhile, the Blacketeers will be checking to make sure that you dot all the ayes and fill in the blanks so that you can connect the dots on the forms you received from the offices of Our Savior. Now that you are in full compliance with the standards of Christ, we will be offering you safe conduct past the White Quicksand and the Black Kryptonite and sundry other places where signs that point to Gods gone wild have been sighted.

About the Author

Here again the author submits for your kind inspection a poem first penned on the back flyleaf of a copy of “Dick Gregory’s Natural Diet for Folks Who Eat: Cookin’ with Mother Nature.” This time it finds its home in its own volume of verse overhauled and revised to be fit company here in the twenty-first century with others of like kind. These poems are written to reflect the writer’s earlier days as an acting instructor with the Federal Theater of the Arts at the Northwest Activities Center during the rehearsals of the award-winning musical “Selma” written and directed by the renowned Reverend Tommy Butler. These verses reflect the young and heady days of the late seventies and move up through to now out of the passenger doors of the City and Checker Cab Companies, where the author, as a young man, worked the streets of Detroit as a cab driver. Down Woodward just this side of the Cultural Center, coming and going, this writer often pondered his encounters with Gods gone wild.
