About the Book

This book is the second in a series titled Learning to Love Jesus. It introduces children to parables, which are stories that Jesus told to the people at the time to explain God’s ways. He gave them examples of how to love, forgive, and help others along with the assurance of God’s love for them. Children will enjoy the rhyming verse and colorful illustrations while learning valuable life lessons. It will be a good addition to both family and Sunday school collections.

About the Author

Arlene Arends Max has combined her love of children, the Gospels, and poetry in writing this book. She has been a teacher for over thirty-five years, the last twenty-six of them in a preschool in New Jersey, working with infants and toddlers. Arlene has written poems for her church and for special occasions for many years. This is her second published children’s book. The first is titled Learning to Love Jesus . . .: His Amazing Miracles. The third book in this series will be about Christ’s teachings. Besides writing poetry, Arlene enjoys reading, baking, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. This book is dedicated to her grandchildren and to all God’s children in the hope that they will love learning about Jesus.
