Snappy the pelican was near certain death when I found him. I rescued and saved him, and in the end, he made his way back to me as faith would have it to let me know he was all right and was doing great.

About the Author

My name is Shane Buras Sr. My family has been in the fishing and shrimping industries since they immagrated from Nova Scotia to South-eastern LA in the 1800's. I have lived in Plaquemine’s Parish in southern LA all my life. Im married to my wife Phyllis and we live in Franklinton, LA. I’ve been working on the water of southern LA since the 1970's. I presently work in the oilfield industry operating vessels that run support for the oil platforms in the gulf of mexico. I own my own business that supplies these vessels to the oilfield.
