About the Book

Yucky Cockroach is a fun-filled book about the purpose of cockroaches. Children learn that if they don’t clean up after themselves, the appearance of cockroaches is inevitable. The sight of cockroaches is not pretty. Cockroaches startle us, especially when we see them late at night. Cockroaches come out when there is a mess, crumbs on the floor, or leftover food. This book teaches children about the importance of taking an active role in cleaning their environment so that cockroaches remain out of their sight.

About the Author

Linda Kring was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She came to the United States when she was ten years old. She currently lives in Torrance, California with her husband Erich and four-year-old son Colin. Linda is the oldest of three children, and since her preteens, she was raised in a single-parent home where she saw her mother work extremely hard to provide for their family. As a child, Linda enjoyed reading many books that left a lasting impression in her memory. When Linda reflects on her childhood, she recalls spending countless hours reading many interesting books that led her to see the world differently. Developing a strong affinity for reading early in life now motivates Linda to share her passion for literature and storytelling with others, especially parents and young children. Linda's greatest inspiration for writing has been seeing her son enjoy a good story and also how he attempts to make up his own stories. She feels that within every individual, there are creative stories waiting to be told.
