Harmattan The harmattan is here again; All creatures announced Get ready for its rustling and harsher wind They warned The lips are tearing and cracking The nose too is runny And filled with watery mucous As they usher in the great harmattan All the grasses and trees Wither and shed their leaves The animals hibernate… All in a bid to conserve water Go away, oh! Harmattan The creatures once more cried Alas, the harmattan’s gone And they all smiled.
