The Dinner Party

About the Book

A young girl ventures out into her city to collect foods from a variety of culturally diverse vendors for a dinner party her parents will be hosting that night. On her adventure she shows us how to say, "Hi" and "Thank you" in Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, French, German and Russian. As she gathers all the food on her list, she proves that knowing even a few key words in another language can create connection. On her journey she also demonstrates the importance of politeness, bravery and persistence when life doesn't go as planned. After all, there are few greater delights than sharing a delicious meal with your friends!

About the Author

Ray Warner is a project manager for Warner Construction in Boise, Idaho. He has a degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from Westminster College in Utah. He has taught English as a Second Language to students of all ages in Colombia, Spain, Russia and The United States. He is passionate about the importance of multilingualism, travel and his conviction that food is the greatest cultural ambassador.
