The Mosaic of My Life (Black & White Version)

I learned love from a dog. I learned friendship in the Revolution. I learned how to be a Sufi from a Sufi musician. I learned togetherness in the Revolution, where we got together at night as a group for safety. I learned communication from a cat, who came back from dying and started biting my neck where he used to. I learned the meaning of sacrifice when I lost my friends in the Revolution. I am now in peace that my own life experiences have made me realize life itself and where I fit in. All else doesn’t matter. Friendship and love is all that matters. All the above was engraved in me by the environment I grew up in. My mother was the center of it all, my father was the protector and my friends supported me. And I am indebted to them all for whom I have become. Today I am the collection of all who have loved me and taught me, fed me, sang to me, listened to my songs and put me to sleep at night, preparing me for a new day of breathing in the universe and breathing out friendship. I don’t plan to live long. I plan to live one day at a time. No, let me amend that. I plan to live one breath at a time. This is my life, my story, my biography. The real biography belongs to those who brought me to this earth and some day will take me from this earth.
