About the Book

As the U.S. rushes ahead into almost unimaginable living styles, it is worth taking a look back at the societal shifts occurring between the 19th and 20th centuries. “A Man of the Land” focuses on one valley in Northern N.J. and one man whose life spanned the shift with all its dislocations, joys and sorrows. The life of this man, Harry Van Duyne, is depicted in every – day detail…. The Reader will feel like being there.

About the Author

Harry Roegner, the grandson of the title character, Harry Van Duyne, is a graduate of Princeton and UC at Berkley, spent his career around the world in International Business, and, since retirement in 2000, has been writing books about people and events of historical significance.
