About the Book

Genre follows Richmond, a young film enthusiast who has decided to end his life, during his final week. Following this decision he endeavours to make what is left of his life meaningful. This becomes more difficult as he begins to see each day as different genre of film. Meanwhile, Richmond’s subconscious fights for survival in the mausoleum of his memories and desires, manifested as a cinema.

About the Author

I grew up in Westport, a small mining town on the west coast of the south island of New Zealand. As a child I moved around the south island, but I now live in the capital, Wellington. I study anthropology and film at Victoria University.
